My indignation
Chile is a country with a quite old education system, it
boost logical thinking like mathematics over all the other types of intelligences
and classes. Since the very begining it works around a vertical system of education
with classrooms where only one person in front of the class talks and the rest
listen, it barely has room for questioning, there’s nothing new in it, it have been
like that since my brothers, my parents and probably my grandparents went to
school.
I’m upset about it, it takes something so especial from
people, it takes imagination from them and insert them in a so mechanized
system, they are meant to seat in perfect rows as indivuals with no direct
contact with their peers.
Once a teacher told us we were privileged, we all thought he
was talking about being in university, right? Nope, he was talking about still
having our imagination, being part of that small percentage of people who didn’t
had it taken out by force by this system where careers that are related to art or
i would say strictly not related to science/mathematics are a joke for most of the
people and you just simply can’t live out of it.
Theres a whole problem with educations and it starts on it
foundations as a system to develope only one type of intelligence, not meant to
cooperate but to compete agasint our peers since the very begining with a
system of grades since we were 6 years old kids or even before and we could not
understand what those grades were for.
The educational system need a change rigth now! (or maybe 10 years ago)
ResponderEliminarI would like public education to have more alternatives for artistic adduction and with newer methods, and it is not only people with money who can access these schools.
